After successfully manipulating Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan<\/a> and eventually failing to cancel Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>, President Donald Trump has named his next target for retribution: Microsoft head of global affairs Lisa Monaco. He\u2019s calling for her to be fired. <\/p>\n

On Truth Social<\/a>, Trump claims that Monaco, who just took the job in May<\/a> and only announced publicly a month ago<\/a>, is \u201ccorrupt,\u201d \u201cderanged,\u201d \u201ca menace to U.S. national security,\u201d and other forms of badmouthing, but it seems her biggest crime in Trump\u2019s eyes is having worked as the 39th Deputy Attorney General of the United States<\/a> under President Biden and AG Merrick Garland. Garland was in charge of the federal prosecution of Trump<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Trump writes that he\u2019s already stripped Monaco of security clearances, but suggests that her role at Microsoft now lets her access \u201cHighly Sensitive Information.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear why Trump took this moment to go after Monaco, but it\u2019s possible he\u2019s just now becoming aware of her Microsoft role. CNBC <\/em>notes<\/span><\/a> that Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo posted about Monaco\u2019s new job<\/a> just last night. And, right-wing activist Laura Loomer has been calling for Monaco\u2019s head since July<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Microsoft has not exactly been in Trump\u2019s crosshairs, as CEO Satya Nadella has continued to kiss the ring<\/a>, but yesterday, the company did finally reduce the scope of its cooperation with the Israeli military<\/a> as it performs mass surveillance of Palestinian civilians. Microsoft had been firing workers<\/a> who protested and occupied its president\u2019s office<\/a>. Microsoft was also probably not happy<\/a> about the new $100,000 fee for H-1B visas.<\/p>\n

Microsoft declined to comment on this story to The Verge. <\/em><\/p>\n
