\n\tWu-Tang\u2019s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin\t<\/figcaption><\/p><\/figure>\n

Disgraced pharma bro, convicted felon, and perennial challenger for America\u2019s Most Hateable Man<\/a>, Martin Shkreli will have to face a lawsuit<\/a> for making copies of the Wu-Tang Clan\u2019s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin<\/em>. US District Judge Pamela Chen issued a decision on Thursday that dismissed some claims by the album\u2019s current owners, PleasrDAO<\/a>, but will allow the suit alleging \u201cmisappropriation of trade secrets\u201d to continue.<\/p>\n

Trade secrets might seem like an odd way to describe the most exclusive album<\/a> ever made, but Chen says in her decision that:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cTrade secrets include all forms and types of business information\u201d so long as the criteria described above pertaining to \u201creasonable measures\u201d to maintain secrecy and the \u201cindependent economic value\u201d from that secrecy are met.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Continuing to say that there was, \u201cno serious debate that the value of the Album\u2026 was largely based on its secret and exclusive nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

In August, Shkreli was forced to hand over any copies<\/a> of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, <\/em>after PleasrDAO (a sort of crypto art collective) sued him for improperly retaining copies of the album and diminishing its value. The group even alleges that Shkreli planned to release his copies which PleasrDAO paid roughly $4 million<\/a> for in a government auction<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the filing by PleasrDAO Shkreli admitted in livestreams that he had made copies of the album and accused him of playing it for his followers. He even supposedly taunted a member of the DAO, replying to a photo of the album with \u201cLOL i have the mp3s you moron.\u201d One thing seems clear, jail time<\/a> and being forced to hand over one of his most valuable possessions hasn\u2019t made Shkreli any more reserved.<\/p>\n
