The new website, called TrumpRx, is expected to launch in 2026 and will direct consumers to discounts on drugmakers\u2019 online stores, including Pfizer\u2019s, as reported earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/09\/30\/health\/trump-pfizer-trumprx-medications.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by <em>The New York Times<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/shots-health-news\/2025\/09\/30\/nx-s1-5558432\/drug-prices-trumprx-pfizer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NPR<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The Tuesday announcement comes as part of a deal that grants Pfizer a three-year reprieve from tariffs in exchange for investing in US-based manufacturing, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/news\/press-release\/press-release-detail\/pfizer-reaches-landmark-agreement-us-government-lower-drug\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">company\u2019s press release<\/a>. Pfizer also agreed to lower prices on the \u201cmajority\u201d of the primary care drugs sold through state Medicaid programs, which it says could result in an average savings of 50 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Details about the <a href=\"http:\/\/trumprx.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TrumpRx.gov<\/a> site are still slim, but senior officials told <em>NPR<\/em> that it would lead users to pharmaceutical companies\u2019 websites to place orders, and that only patients not using health insurance would be able to take advantage of the discounts. <em>The New York Times<\/em> reports that officials also said Trump has reached similar agreements with other drugmakers, without specifying which ones.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Donald Trump is launching a new government-run website that he says will let Americans buy medications at lower prices.
