When I open my phone and scroll down to the N&rsquo;s, I get a neat, full row dedicated entirely to Nintendo. That&rsquo;s four apps: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2017\/7\/18\/15995098\/nintendo-switch-online-app-out-now-ios-android\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Switch app<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/10\/30\/24284073\/nintendo-music-streaming-app-switch-online-subscribers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the music app<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/637319\/nintendo-today-news-app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Nintendo Today news app<\/a>, and now the store. And it is entirely too much.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Nintendo has always been the one company of the big three publishers that does its own thing, and that&rsquo;s worked both for and against it. The company hasn&rsquo;t chased development trends with the same zeal as Microsoft and Sony.
