Next year, instead of a new game, the company will opt to release a paid expansion for <em>F1 25<\/em> as part of \u201ca strategic reset for the F1 Franchise,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ea.com\/games\/f1\/f1-25\/news\/f1-franchise-announcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EA says<\/a>. The next full <em>F1<\/em> game, a \u201creimagined\u201d experience, will arrive in 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The 2026 DLC for <em>F1 25<\/em> is a \u201cpremium content update\u201d that will \u201calign with the sport\u2019s major changes for the 2026 season, bringing fans new cars, sporting regulations, teams, and drivers,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ea.com\/press-releases\/press-releases-details\/2025\/EA-SPORTS-Announces-Plans-for-Future-EA-SPORTS-F1-Experiences-Including-2026-FIA-Formula-One-World-Championship-Season-Expansion--All-New-F1-Game-in-2027\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to EA\u2019s press release<\/a>. (F1 cars are in for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/6\/6\/24173356\/f1-2026-tech-changes-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some major changes next year<\/a> that the DLC will presumably need to account for.) Timing and pricing for the expansion will be announced sometime in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">EA is vague on specific details about its plans for the 2027 game, but says it will be \u201ca deeply authentic and innovative representation of the action and thrill of Formula 1, reimagined into a more expansive experience with new ways to play for fans around the world.\u201d It\u2019s described as \u201cpart of a multi-year strategic investment in the EA Sports F1 franchise, with support from both Formula One Management and the F1 teams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Apple is betting big on F1, too, signing a major multi-year deal to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/801597\/apple-tv-f1-exclusive-sports-racing-streaming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stream F1 races on Apple TV<\/a> in the US starting next year.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EA has announced some big changes for the future of its F1 racing series.
