{"id":444,"date":"2025-06-12T08:01:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-12T04:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.actutech.app\/klarnas-ceo-is-now-taking-your-calls-over-an-ai-hotline\/"},"modified":"2025-06-12T08:01:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T04:01:00","slug":"klarnas-ceo-is-now-taking-your-calls-over-an-ai-hotline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.actutech.app\/en\/klarnas-ceo-is-now-taking-your-calls-over-an-ai-hotline\/","title":{"rendered":"Klarna\u2019s CEO is now taking your calls \u2014 over an AI hotline"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.theverge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/05\/videoframe_10281.png?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;crop=0,0,100,100\" \/><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/p><\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski has already used AI to replace himself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/673194\/tech-ceos-zoom-klarna-replace-earnings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">during earnings reports<\/a>, and now Klarna is using AI to clone him another way: through an AI-powered phone hotline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The hotline is now open for users to provide feedback to an interactive AI version of Siemiatkowski that\u2019s trained on his \u201creal voice, insights, and experiences,\u201d according to a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">\u201cCustomers, including consumers and merchants alike, can speak to it about product features, issues and suggestions for improvements,\u201d Klarna says. \u201c\u2018AI Sebastian\u2019 can also answer questions about Klarna\u2019s vision and mission, and speak about its founding story and journey so far, based on learnings from \u2018real life Sebastian.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">After the hotline takes a call, a transcript and summary are generated that are \u201cautomatically analyzed by a large language model (LLM), populating an internal live feed and innovation dashboard.\u201d Klarna says its product and engineering teams will then review the \u201cactionable insights immediately\u201d and assign \u201cpriority tasks.\u201d The company claims that issues raised today could \u201ctranslate into tangible product improvements already the following day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Phone numbers for the hotline are available now in the US, +14246675385, and Sweden, +46852512594. I called the US hotline just to see what the experience was like. After a brief message telling me the call may be recorded, the AI version of Siemiatkowski prompted me to share feedback about using Klarna. No matter what I asked AI Siemiatkowski, even sillier questions, the AI generally tried to push me back to sharing feedback.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">When I asked if it had talked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/668349\/fortnite-star-wars-james-earl-jones-vader-ai-voice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Fortnite\u2019s<\/em> AI Darth Vader<\/a>, for example, here\u2019s what it said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">That\u2019s an interesting question. My focus is entirely on Klarna and gathering feedback to improve our services. I don\u2019t have information or conversations with characters from games like <em>Fortnite.<\/em> I\u2019m here to hear your thoughts on Klarna.
