It comes over a year since the showcase for DJI\u2019s very impressive Avinox drive system was launched in Europe, sending shockwaves through the industry and leaving stalwarts like Bosch and Specialized <a href=\"https:\/\/ebike-mtb.com\/en\/emtb-motor-comparison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">struggling to respond<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">What\u2019s most impressive about the Avinox system \u2014 built around a 1000W Avinox motor capable of producing a very responsive 120Nm of max torque \u2014 is how much performance it packs into such a diminutive, lightweight, and efficient package. A remarkable accomplishment for DJI\u2019s inaugural effort. I can\u2019t wait to see what the company best known for its drones has in store for mass-market commuter e-bikes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.theverge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/04\/22a35b8a1e4840500f38abdf8693b027%40origin-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;crop=15.999999023438,6.2666666666667,65.600002099609,87.466666666667\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"&lt;em&gt;DJI\u2019s Avinox e-bike drive system includes everything you need to electrify a bicycle.&lt;\/em&gt; | Image: DJI\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: DJI\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The Amflow PL e-bikes are DJI\u2019s best effort to promote that drive system in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amflowbikes.com\/pl-carbon\/specs?set_region=US&amp;from=site-nav\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highly-specced<\/a> and sleek build weighing just 19.2kg. And while I don\u2019t have the chops to properly review this e-MTB myself, trail-bombing experts have been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mbr.co.uk\/news\/i-range-tested-the-amflow-pl-carbon-with-the-ludicrously-powerful-dji-motor-and-the-results-surprised-me-447747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">won over<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emtb-news.de\/news\/user-awards-2025-innovativste-marke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">again<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/singletrackworld.com\/2025\/01\/standout-product-of-the-year-dji-avinox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">again<\/a>\u2026 and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ebike-mtb.com\/en\/e-mountainbike-test-2025-amflow-pl-carbon-pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">again<\/a>.\u00a0They don\u2019t come cheap, however: the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amflowbikes.com\/pl-carbon?from=site-nav\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amflow PL Carbon<\/a>\u00a0starts at $7,499 and jumps to $10,199 for the Pro model, so it\u2019d be wise to first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amflowbikes.com\/test-ride\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.amflowbikes.com\/test-ride\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">book a test ride<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If that price is too steep then it might pay to shop around.
