Ever since that update, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GooglePixel\/comments\/1lb4dyf\/3button_navigation_on_android_16_is_broken\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">user said that<\/a> navigation has been \u201ca complete mess\u201d and that they ran into issues with buttons being \u201ccompletely unresponsive\u201d or delays of \u201cover 30 seconds\u201d on their Pixel 8 Pro. Another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GooglePixel\/comments\/1lb4dyf\/3button_navigation_on_android_16_is_broken\/my90zrt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">user said<\/a> they had to occasionally press the back button \u201ca few times\u201d on their Pixel 9 to get the phone to register it. The swipe gesture to navigate back also occasionally stopped working, as noticed <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ArtemR\/status\/1933934882624778382?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1933934882624778382%7Ctwgr%5E8b2351afd0f77830b3c6f961201161dd075e059e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.androidpolice.com%2Faugust-2025-google-pixel-update-back-button-finally-fixed%2F\" target=\"_blank\">by <em>Android Police\u2019s<\/em> Artem Russakovskii<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Google\u2019s patch notes only vaguely say that the issues would happen under \u201ccertain conditions.\u201d In addition to general stability improvements, the update also fixes an issue where a scheduled dark theme wouldn\u2019t work. It also includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/source.android.com\/docs\/security\/bulletin\/pixel\/2025-08-01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">security fix<\/a> for a high severity remote code execution vulnerability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The update is rolling out now for Pixel 6 devices and newer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Google\u2019s August Pixel update includes a fix for Android\u2019s three-button navigation and gesture navigation systems becoming unresponsive.
