As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notateslaapp.com\/news\/3008\/tesla-to-switch-to-unreal-engine-for-improved-fsd-visualizations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Not a Tesla App<\/em><\/a>, Tesla hacker greentheonly says they <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/greentheonly\/status\/1953882658284392579\" target=\"_blank\">found<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/759016\/blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">evidence<\/a> of the change in Tesla\u2019s 2025.20 firmware for Tesla Model S and Model X cars with AMD chips.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Unreal Engine is perhaps best known as a development tool for video games, but Epic has been making a bigger push as of late for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unrealengine.com\/en-US\/uses\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automakers to use Unreal Engine<\/a>. Currently, Tesla uses the Godot engine for the visualizations, according to greentheonly, so if Tesla switches to Unreal Engine, it would join a growing number of automakers that use Epic\u2019s engine inside its cars, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/6\/6\/24172761\/rivian-r1t-r1s-refresh-update-motor-battery-price\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rivian<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/9\/21\/24229743\/lincoln-nautilus-ford-digital-experience-infotainment-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ford<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/10\/7\/21506572\/epic-games-unreal-engine-general-motors-gmc-hummer-ev-human-machine-interface\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GMC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/6\/1\/23144461\/volvo-epic-unreal-engine-hmi-human-machine-interface-partnership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Volvo<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unrealengine.com\/en-US\/spotlights\/from-vr-to-hmi-why-lotus-is-still-one-of-auto-s-biggest-disruptors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lotus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Tesla and Epic Games didn\u2019t immediately reply to a request for comment.
