More like pedal-powered hybrid microcars and other weird, decidedly untraditional modes of alternative transportation. This was three years before Scaringe launched Rivian, and nearly 13 years <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/5\/23\/17380600\/rivian-electric-truck-pickup-suv-interview-rj-scaringe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before the company eventually came out of stealth<\/a>. By then, Scaringe had decided against building such a vehicle, concluding that the market would be too small, limited to a niche group of enthusiasts like himself. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Still, it would have been cool, right?
