Users are receiving emails notifying them that their Neato robovacs will no longer have access to cloud services, meaning they can\u2019t be controlled through the robots\u2019 MyNeato app anymore.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">In an email obtained by <em>The Verge<\/em>, Neato Robotics explained the decision to users, stating, \u201cSince Neato ceased operations in 2023, Vorwerk has continued maintaining the Neato cloud platform to honor the original five-year service promise. However, cybersecurity standards, compliance obligations, and regulations have advanced in ways that make it no longer possible to safely and sustainably operate these legacy systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-slider\">\n<div class=\"image-slider\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.theverge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/neato-robovac-shutdown-email-part-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;crop=0,5.954415954416,100,88.091168091168\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.theverge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/neato-robovac-shutdown-email-part-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;crop=0,1.7328292375551,100,96.53434152489\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The end of cloud support means Neato\u2019s robovacs will now only work in manual mode, meaning no more customizing your routines or controlling your robot from the MyNeato app.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Unfortunately, this doesn\u2019t exactly come as a surprise, since Neato, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therobotreport.com\/vorwerk-acquires-autonomous-vacuum-maker-neato-robotics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was acquired by Vorwerk<\/a> in 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/support.neatorobotics.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/204000073686-announcement-6th-oct-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced earlier this month<\/a> that it will be phasing out cloud services for its robovacs.
