The AI chatbot has <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/grok-is-glitching-and-spewing-misinformation-about-the-bondi-beach-shooting-2000699533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repeatedly misidentified<\/a> 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who heroically disarmed one of the shooters, and claimed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/12\/14\/world\/australia\/bondi-beach-gunman-tackled-video.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">verified video<\/a> of his deed was something else entirely &#8211; including that it was an <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ms_babyrussell\/status\/2000236867678314661\" target=\"_blank\">old viral video<\/a> of a man climbing a tree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">In the aftermath of the attack, Ahmed has been widely praised for his heroism, but some have tried to dismiss or even deny his actions.
