Department of Homeland Security agents \u00ab\u00a0made misrepresentations\u00a0\u00bb to gain access to a Columbia University residential building and detained a student early Thursday morning, according to a statement<\/a> issued by the school.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Our understanding at this time is that the federal agents made misrepresentations to gain entry to the building to search for a ‘missing person,'\u00a0\u00bb the statement says.<\/p>\n

The Columbia Daily Spectator<\/em>, the student newspaper, reported<\/a> that the student who was detained is neuroscience researcher Ellie Aghayeva. Aghayeva is also a content creator with more than 100,000 followers on Instagram<\/a> and TikTok<\/a>, and her identity as a stude \u2026<\/p>\n
