href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/xai\/status\/2029294509230874896\" target=\"_blank\">xAI<\/a> met with President Donald Trump today to sign a \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/articles\/2026\/03\/ratepayer-protection-pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rate payer protection pledge<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb It&rsquo;s one way they&rsquo;re responding to growing bipartisan concerns about electricity rates rising as tech companies and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/policy\/713788\/trump-ai-action-plan-explainer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Trump administration rush<\/a> to build out a new generation of AI data centers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">\u00ab\u00a0[Tech companies] need some PR help because people think that if a data center goes in, their electricity prices are going to go up,\u00a0\u00bb Trump said during the event. \u00ab\u00a0Some centers were rejected by communities for that and now I think it&rsquo;s going to be the opposite.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Trump signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2026\/03\/ratepayer-protection-pledge-proclamation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proclamation<\/a> formally  \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a
