Android XR is getting a new feature<\/a> that turns 2D apps, websites, images, and videos into \u00ab\u00a03D experiences.\u00a0\u00bb The feature, which Google calls \u00ab\u00a0auto-spatialization,\u00a0\u00bb was initially announced last year<\/a>, and it’s launching on Tuesday as an experimental feature for Samsung Galaxy XR headsets.<\/p>\n

There are a few caveats to auto-spatialization: it supports content up to 1080p or lower at 30fps, it \u00ab\u00a0uses slightly more battery power,\u00a0\u00bb and it only works \u00ab\u00a0on the app window currently in focus,\u00a0\u00bb Google says<\/a>. But if you have a Galaxy XR device, it could be \u2026<\/p>\n
