The update, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-insider\/release-notes\/experimental\/preview-build-26300-8493\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rolling out to Windows 11 Insiders<\/a> in the Experimental channel, lets you place the taskbar on the bottom, top, left, or right side of the screen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Microsoft first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/897849\/microsoft-windows-11-taskbar-vertical-top-movable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">teased its movable taskbar in March<\/a> as part of efforts to rebuild <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/870045\/microsoft-windows-11-issues-rebuilding-trust-notepad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trust among users<\/a>. You can adjust the alignment of the icons inside the taskbar, as well as open the Start menu drawer from wherever you placed it. Windows 11 Insiders can access a shorter taskbar, too, which could come in handy for devices with smaller displays.
