But in most other ways, the games aren&rsquo;t <em>directly<\/em> connected. To developer Remedy, they&rsquo;re more like two sides of the same coin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">When <em>Resonant<\/em> was first revealed last year, creative director Mikael Kasurinen said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/control-2-resonant-announcement-remedy-the-game-awards-trailer-release-date\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can play the games in any order<\/a>. The world of <em>Control<\/em> is reality-bending in lots of ways, but the general linear progression of time isn&rsquo;t really one of them &#8211; how would someone start with the sequel?<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">It didn&rsquo;t click until I played <em>Resonant<\/em> myself.
