GOG sent a newsletter<\/a> about the game The End of the Sun<\/em> on June 5th that included symbols<\/a> associated with the Nazi SS. The Steam competitor issued a statement attributing the inclusion to a \u00ab\u00a0series of mistakes<\/a>,\u00a0\u00bb including miscommunication with the German QA team, inconsistent font rendering<\/a>, and being understaffed during a bank holiday<\/a>, among other things.<\/p>\n

The game is a fantasy title set in a universe based on Slavic mythology and culture. So GOG included Slavic runes in its email promoting the title, including the Sowil\u014d symbol, which means \u00ab\u00a0sun\u00a0\u00bb.
