As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/carl-pei-smartphone-price-warning-3677030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Android Authority<\/em><\/a> reports, Pei said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/getpeid\/status\/2065316004293681187?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">post on X<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/839353\/pc-ram-shortage-pricing-spike-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the RAM shortage<\/a> has already impacted Nothing&rsquo;s less expensive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/gadgets\/882983\/nothing-phone-4a-official-design-glyph-bar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mid-range phone<\/a>: \u00ab\u00a0For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/889769\/nothing-phone-4a-pro-design-opaque-transparent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phone 4A <\/a>, memory costs doubled between when we decided to build the device and when it launched. They&rsquo;ve doubled again since.\u00a0\u00bb He warned that \u00ab\u00a0Phone prices are going up, and they&rsquo;ll keep going up into next year.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Pei says RAM can now account for over 50 percent of the cost of a new phone.
