Don&rsquo;t use a name like \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Long-Term_Capital_Management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Long-Term Capital Management<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amaranth_Advisors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amaranth Advisors<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb (named for the floral symbol for immortality). Certainly do not call yourself \u00ab\u00a0Situational Awareness,\u00a0\u00bb which might as well just be \u00ab\u00a0Hubris, Inc.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyway, Situational Awareness, the hedge fund started by a 24-year-old former OpenAI employee that focuses on artificial intelligence bets, has sold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/citadel-buys-most-situationals-stock-holdings-after-ai-share-rout-sources-say-2026-07-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/07\/30\/ai-hedge-fund-situational-awareness-citadel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-30\/situational-awareness-assets-fall-to-10-billion-after-losses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">depending<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/07\/30\/leopold-aschenbrenners-hedge-fund-is-facing-steep-ai-losses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who&rsquo;s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/finance\/citadel-buys-situational-awarenesss-stock-portfolio-after-big-losses-in-ai-5117159b?mod=hp_lead_pos3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reporting<\/a>, of its entire public stock portfolio to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/31\/ken-griffin-citadel-securities-hedge-fund-miami-wall-street-trump-republican-politics\/?utm_source=sfmc&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=NL_fortune-features_2026-3-31_108268&amp;utm_term=fortune-features&amp;sfmc_id=14949166\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ken Griffin<\/a>&lsquo;s Cit \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/973467\/ai-bet-situational-awareness-oops-stonks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read the full story at The Verge.<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neither artificial nor intelligent.
