The feature has been a reminder of why Sony is probably never going to give up the Spider-Man film rights, and highlighted how Marvel Studios was smart to strike a deal to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2017\/6\/20\/15841200\/spider-man-marvel-sony-cinematic-universe-rights-management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bring the character into its own films<\/a>. But as successful as <em>Brand New Day <\/em>has been, the larger MCU has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23942217\/marvel-mcu-marvels-variety-franchise-disney-quality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stuck in a confounding slump<\/a> for the past few years.
