Last September, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/787112\/electronic-arts-55-billion-privacte-acquisition-pif-silver-lake-affinity-partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EA announced<\/a> that an investor group led by Saudi Arabia&rsquo;s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners would be taking the company private in a $55 billion deal, and on Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20260804173096\/en\/EA-Announces-Completion-of-Acquisition-by-PIF-Silver-Lake-and-Affinity-Partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EA said the deal successfully closed<\/a>. The PIF will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/deals\/saudi-fund-to-own-almost-all-of-electronic-arts-after-buyout-661e92be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly own<\/a> 93.4 percent of the new company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deal includes $20 billion of debt financing &#8211; making it the largest leveraged buyout ever &#8211; which could mean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/787723\/ea-private-deal-buyout-future-games-layoffs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">big changes at EA to justify the deal<\/a>.
