In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politie.nl\/nieuws\/2026\/september\/29\/11-verdachte-aangehouden-in-onderzoek-naar-hackersgroep-shinyhunters.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a press release,<\/a> Dutch authorities state that they arrested the suspect on September 15th &#8211; just days before the hacking group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/policy\/998966\/shinyhunters-fbi-hack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed to have breached<\/a> the FBI&rsquo;s website and stolen employee data, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/amsterdam-man-arrested-shinyhunters-hacking-investigation-police-say-2026-09-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported earlier by <em>Reuters<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neither Dutch authorities nor the FBI name the suspect, <a href=\"https:\/\/krebsonsecurity.com\/2026\/09\/dutch-police-arrest-reformed-hacker-in-shiny-hunters-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">but <em>Krebs on Security<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>and <em>Reuters<\/em> report that police arrested Pepijn van der Stap, a Dutch man convicted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techzine.eu\/news\/security\/112907\/dutch-hacker-gets-four-year-prison-term-for-extorting-companies-money-laundering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for data theft and
