Google just launched a new Gemini AI feature that lets you transform photos into video clips. The new photo-to-video capability is powered by Google\u2019s Veo 3 video model<\/a>, and it can transform reference images into eight-second videos complete with AI-generated audio, including background noises, environmental sounds, and speech.<\/p>\n

The Gemini video update is now available to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers \u201cin select regions,\u201d according to Google. It\u2019s rolling out on the web starting today and throughout the week on mobile devices.<\/p>\n

Gemini users can access the feature by clicking the \u201ctools\u201d option in the prompt bar, selecting \u201cvideo,\u201d and uploading their photo alongside a text description of how they want it to move. Audio descriptions can also be included for dialogue, sound effects, and ambient noise, which Google says will be \u201cperfectly synced with the visuals.\u201d The finished videos are delivered as MP4 files at 720p resolution and a 16:9 landscape format.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can get creative by animating everyday objects, bringing your drawings and paintings to life, or adding movement to nature scenes,\u201d Google said. \u201cAll generated videos include a visible watermark to show they are AI-generated and an invisible SynthID digital watermark.\u201d<\/p>\n

A similar feature is already available in Flow<\/a>, the generative AI filmmaking tool launched by Google in March, but now Gemini users can animate their photographs without having to open another app. Google says that Flow will also be launching in \u201can additional 75 countries\u201d today, in addition to rolling out Gemini\u2019s new video feature.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
