The program, which lets Switch Online members save money on digital games, will come to an end on January 30th, 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Though players will no longer be able to purchase vouchers after this date, vouchers will still expire one year after they\u2019re purchased. Nintendo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/deals\/2019\/5\/16\/18627669\/nintendo-switch-online-game-vouchers-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first introduced Switch game vouchers<\/a> in 2019, allowing Switch Online members to purchase a pair of vouchers for $99.98 and redeem them for two eligible games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Since many of the games on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/games\/game-voucher-eligible\/#sort=df&amp;p=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nintendo\u2019s voucher eligibility list<\/a> \u2014 like <em>Super Mario Party Jamboree,<\/em> <em>The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom<\/em>, and <em>Mario &amp; Luigi Brothership<\/em> \u2014 cost $59.99, players can use their vouchers to save about $10 on each game. Nintendo <a href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/45255\/kw\/voucher#s1q1:~:text=the%20Nintendo%20website.-,Nintendo%20Switch%20Game%20Vouchers%20cannot%20be%20redeemed%20for%20games%20exclusive%20to%20the%20Nintendo%20Switch%C2%A02%20system.,-How%20to%20check\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">says players<\/a> can\u2019t use vouchers to purchase Switch 2 exclusives, but users can still get around this by using them to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/679468\/nintendo-switch-2-game-updates-more-titles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">buy first-gen games enhanced<\/a> for the Switch 2 at a discount, and then paying for the Switch 2 upgrade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Nintendo says it will continue to add games to its list of eligible titles until next year. It\u2019s not clear whether Nintendo plans on implementing another kind of cost-saving method that would come in handy for pricier Switch 2 games, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/634632\/mario-kart-nintendo-switch-2-trailer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">like the $79.99 <em>Mario Kart World<\/em><\/a>. Nintendo also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/614210\/auto-draft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ended its My Nintendo Gold Points loyalty program<\/a> in March, which means players can no longer earn points from buying games and use them to get discounts on digital purchases.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nintendo is discontinuing vouchers for Switch games.
